York City are delighted to announce that midfielder Alex Hunt has agreed to sign for the Minstermen on a permanent basis, transferring from Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee.
Alex Hunt re-joins the Minstermen from League Two side Grimsby Town following a two month long loan spell between February and April.
The 24-year-old debuted for City on the road against Barnet in February before playing out the last eight fixtures in their entirety under Adam Hinshelwood.
A one-all draw away to FC Halifax Town in April saw Hunt curl a pin-point left-footed assist into the back post for Dipo Akinyemi to hit home at.
The midfielder departs Blundell Park having featured 62 for the Mariners, across two different spells in the National League and League Two.
Welcome back to the Minstermen, Alex!
Subject to league and FA approval.
