Jason McGill - Chairman

Managing Director of his own company JM Packaging, based in Malton, North Yorkshire.

Jason McGill's role is to co-ordinate the Board and ensure its business strategy is implemented.

A lifelong City supporter, he was responsible for the deal to acquire Bootham Crescent as York City's home in 2005 and negotiates all key business deals involving the club.



Steven Kilmartin - Managing Director

Born in York and educated at Nunthorpe Grammar School, Steven Kilmartin joined the club's board of directors in August 2018.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, he was admitted to the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales) in 1980 before becoming a partner in a York-based Chartered Accountancy originally established in 1908 which acts for local, regional and national businesses particularly in the construction and allied trades.

Married for over 40 years with three daughters and one grandson, he attended his first City game in 1963 and is also a supporter of York Rugby (now the York City Knights) having written the rugby club's match reports for various publications from the mid-Nineties onwards. He is also a devotee of Yorkshire Cricket Club.



Ian McAndrew - Stadium Development Director

Ian is the club's Stadium Development Director and is responsible for progressing the plans for the club's new stadium at Monks Cross. 

He is also responsible for liaising with the local authority's planning department regarding planning permission for Bootham Crescent. 

He has a vast knowledge of property development in York and the current planning legislation. Away from City, Ian works for the Helmsley Group who specialise in both commercial and residential developments. 



Dave Penney - Sporting Director

A vastly-experienced former player and manager, Dave Penney joined York City in October 2017 as part of a new managerial structure and was subsequently appointed to the board of directors in March 2018.

Wakefield-born Dave began his career in football at Pontefract Collieries before being spotted at the age of 21 by Derby County. An all-action midfielder, he enjoyed a lengthy playing career at Derby, Oxford United, Swansea City, Cardiff City and Doncaster Rovers.

On hanging up his boots in 2002, Dave moved into football management with Doncaster and led the South Yorkshire club back into the Football League. 

He subsequently won a second promotion 12 months later - steering Doncaster to the League Two title.

After leaving Doncaster in August 2006, Dave has managed Darlington (2006-2009), Oldham Athletic (2009-2010), and Bristol Rovers (2011). He also also worked as assistant manager at Southend United (2013-2015) and Guiseley (2017).


Richard Adams - Marketing and Communications Director

Chairman of the Vice Presidents since 2004, Richard has worked on many fund-raising projects on behalf of York City and joined the club's board of directors in March 2018.

A Vice President since 1980, he worked as an architect before moving into a specialist role involved in the treatment of timber against fire. 

Prior to his retirement, Richard spent nearly five years in the build-up to the 2012 London Olympics working with architects, designers and contractors on many of the venues used during the games.
