Lewis Richardson

We were delighted to announce the loan signing of Lewis Richardson on loan from Burnley FC in late January.

Richardson linked up with the Minstermen for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The 21-year-old forward began his career through the youth setup at Burnley where he worked his way up through the ranks to earn himself a spot in the senior team back in 2021. He made his professional debut that same year when he came off the bench to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Experienced at England U16’s and 17’s level, Lewis joined League Two Grimsby Town on loan for the first half of the 2022/23 season where he went onto feature 15 times for the Mariners, scoring twice. One of those coming in the club’s historic FA Cup Quarter Final run that season.

Richardson made his Minstermen debut off the bench during our 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge.
