Joe Felix has been named as our Clubman of the Year for the 2024/25 season, earning a majority vote from the supporters.
He was presented the Billy Fenton Memorial Trophy by Mark, Steve, and Nicky Fenton prior to kick-off at our final home game of the regular Vanarama National League season against Solihull Moors.
The versatile full-back joined City last May from Worthing to reunite with manager Adam Hinshelwood, becoming our second recruit of the season.
After a fantastic campaign with the Rebels, Felix’s form got even better when he kick-started his Minstermen career, keeping eight clean sheets in the opening twelve games.
The 25-year-old grabbed his first assist for the club away at Solihull Moors during a 3-0 win, before notching another in our Emirates FA Cup tie against Biggleswade FC not long after.
Felix played a vital part in helping City reach the summit of the league table by November, a month when he also scored his first goal in York colours – despite being narrowly edged out with a 3-2 scoreline, he threw us a lifeline late on in our FA Cup First Round clash with Wycombe Wanderers.
Our number 23 has continued to contribute throughout the campaign with six assists so far, and netted for the first time in the league away at AFC Fylde just a few weeks back. This was followed by the opener on Easter Monday at home to Oldham Athletic, a goal that would ultimately secure the Minstermen a point.
Alongside that, the defender has also been voted our Player of the Month a record five times to date this season, including back-to-back accolades on multiple occasions.
It’s been nothing short of an incredible season for Felix, which isn’t over yet…
Congratulations, Joe!
