York City won 3-0 against Solihull Moors at Dansom Park in the Vanarama National League on Tuesday night.

Ashley Nathaniel-George’s strike before half time gave York the edge before a Ty Sinclair brace wrapped up three points.

Manager Adam Hinshelwood made four changes to the side which battled it out at Aldershot three days prior.

Harrison Male, Dipo Akinyemi, Billy Chadwick and Cameron John all started for York, with Rory Watson, Tyrese Sinclair, Alex Hunt and Ricky Aguiar dropping out.

Very little separated the two sides throughout the vast majority of the first half, with both sides producing limited clear-cut chances.

Joe Felix took a speculative pop shot from distance after six minutes, which was blocked straight back.

Ashley Nathaniel-George produced a scuffed effort two minutes later, winning York the opening corner of the game in the process.

Solihull skipper Jamey Osborne lined up at Harrison Male, however the shot-stopper collected routinely.

Ollie Pearce could’ve struck Adam Hinshelwood’s side the lead in the 15th minute after pouncing on a sloppy Solihull ball, but the forward struck over the bar with some power.

Marvin Armstrong dispossessed the Moors midfield in the 20th minute, carrying the ball calmly from the half-way line to the box  before aiming wide of the target.

Osborne again found the target in the 39th minute after a one-two with Sam Bowen returned back to the skipper.

Conor Wilkinson next tested Male, turning on the ball inside the area to take a shot which was parried before immediately collected.

Nathaniel-George broke the deadlock just before half time, latching onto a 42nd minute long ball down field before taking it past Laurie Walker and thumping home.

The winger did however hobble off minutes later, being replaced by Tyrese Sinclair.

Right-back Ryan Fallowfield rushed forward just after the half time break when he took the ball off of Bradley Stevenson, but the resulting shot was hit up and over the bar.

Felix saw an effort in the 57th minute flicked off of the line and off the crossbar for York.

After Billy Chadwick won the ball in our defensive half, Felix charged through the Solihull back line and around Walker to latch onto a well timed Sinclair through ball and strike an effort.

Pearce picked out the adventurous Armstrong three minutes later, but the midfielder’s touch prevented a shot at goal and instead allowed Walker to dive on the ball.

Substitute Sinclair doubled up with a brace following the 80th minute mark.

A spectacular swerving shot from the left flank into the far side of the net left Walker with no chance.

Lenell John-Lewis’ perfect square ball three minutes later then allowed the winger to plant the ball home from close range with ease.

York City are next in action back at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, September 28th versus Eastleigh (3pm kick off). Tickets are on sale via the ‘Matchday Tickets’ page.
