York and Oldham both had to settle for a point with a score draw in a packed LNER Community Stadium.
Oldham registered the first shot of the game in the opening minute when Oliver Hammond shot first time from range, but it flew high over the bar.
Oldham also took responsibility of the first set-piece of the game. Tom Pett swung in the cross, but Callum Howe swung his boot to clear the ball away.
City’s first chance came in the form of a set-piece when Dan Batty swung in a cross looking for Howe, but the Oldham defence stood strong to head away.
Vimal Yoganathan was next to try for the visitors, but his left-footed shot rolled wide of the post.
Ashley Nathaniel-George played his part in a dangerous counter-attack when the ball found its way to Junior Luamba down the right-hand side, who took a swipe at goal from a tight angle, but Matt Hudson made the save.
There weren’t many clear-cut chances in the first period of the first half, but it took some magic from Joe Felix to grab the opener. Joe found room to shoot from the edge of the box before drilling a shot into the bottom corner.
Ollie Pearce was looking to get in on the action when he took a shot on the half-volley, but the visitors’ defence stood firm to make the block.
Oldham were seeing plenty of the ball at the start of the second half. Mike Fondop found space to shoot from the edge of the box, but it was saved low by Harrison Male.
City had a great chance shortly after when Hunt’s corner was met by captain Howe at the back post, but his effort was well defended by Oldham.
Hunt was next to have a go at goal, but his one-two shot with Nathaniel-George could only find the stand behind the goal.
Oldham had their equaliser on the 70th minute mark when Charlie Raglan jumped highest from a corner to nod the ball past Male.
The final chance of the game came when Lewis Richardson shot from the edge of the box, his shot flew high over the bar to ensure both teams would be leaving with a point.
