York City won 6-2 against Maidenhead United at the LNER Community Stadium in Vanarama National League action on Saturday afternoon.
Four first half goals, with two from Ollie Pearce topped up by Ty Sinclair and Ashley Nathaniel-George, were joined by Adam Crookes and Luca Thomas in the second.
Adam Hishelwood made five changes to the side which lost 3-0 away to Altrincham mid-week.
Harrison Male, Adam Crookes, Tyrese Sinclair, Marvin Armstrong and Dan Batty all made a return to the line up.
York opened up the scoring through an unmarked Ollie Pearce header, assisted superbly by Joe Felix after he delivered perfectly on the break.
The forward went on to win a penalty in the 24th minute after he was struck down in the area, which he went on to smash in for a brace.
Tyrese Sinclair was next in on the act four minutes later after the winger handled a City long ball brilliantly, using his touch to bring it down under pressure before lifting it over Craig Ross.
City looked unstoppable when Ashley Nathaniel-George rocketed in a fourth goal from outside the area.
After beating his man in the 32nd minute, the winger just stroked a well-struck effort with ease into the far side of goal.
Visitors Maidenhead notched one back shortly after when Shawn McCoulsky nodded in at close range.
After the break, Alan Devonshire found his side down to ten-men.
Alan Massey was sent marching in the 50th minute despite Will De Havilland bringing down Ollie Pearce.
Maidenhead did go on to grab the next goal however. McCoulsky was shoved in the area, enabling Sam Barratt to convert in the 67th minute.
Adam Crookes had the chance to head in a fifth for The Minstermen in the 70th minute after Dan Batty’s low-hit shot won a corner.
A fifth was found a minute later through the left-back. City retained the ball off the corner with Joe Felix, who dipped a cross from deep back into the area.
Malachi Fagan-Walcott nodded down the delivery, setting up Crookes to swipe at goal from inside the box and net the fifth.
City’s sixth goal came moments before the 90th minute. Both Luca Thomas and David Ajiboye were sliding in on the chance, looking to tap home from inside the area.
