Hinshelwood’s Worthing side racked up over 269 league goals since the beginning of the 2021/22 campaign.
A Football League defender by trade during his playing days, Hinshelwood boasts over 100 Brighton & Hove Albion appearances across the Championship and League One.
Spells at Aldershot and Wycombe in the Football League also followed for the central defender during a playing career hit by injury.
In 2013, Hinshelwood was appointed manager of the Rebels before leaving a couple years later to pursue a coaching role at Brighton & Hove Albion.
A return in 2017 has seen an Isthmian Premier Division title and a Sussex Senior Challenge Cup secured since, with Worthing now plying their trade in the National League South.
Hinshelwood’s promotion to the National League South was halted twice during both the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons, with their eventual promotion secured in 2022 after keeping up on their relentless title-winning form to complete a full season.
Hinshelwood also brought two key major staff members with him to the LNER Community Stadium, namely Gary Elphick and Cameron Morrison.

Gary Elphick joined the Minstermen alongside Adam Hinshelwood in February 2024.
Our Assistant Manager began his playing days at Brighton & Hove Albion, featuring twice between 2004-6, whilst also going out on loan to Eastbourne Borough, St Albans and Aldershot Town.
Spells at St Albans City, Havant & Waterloo and Eastbourne Borough on a permanent basis followed between 2006-12, with over 240 appearances played out across six years.
An undisclosed fee saw the defender move to Eastleigh in 2012, but subsequently left following squad rearrangement.
Elphick settled at Tonbridge Angels between 2012-13, picking up 70 appearances for the side.
Worthing as a joint manager was just around the corner for Elphick in 2015, initially joining to play under Adam Hinshelwood before he stepped away.
Elphick joined Hastings United in 2019 before becoming first team manager in November 2021.
Winning an Isthmian League South East Division title, followed by an eighth placed position in the Isthmian Premier, Elphick departed as manager at the end of the 2022/23 season to return to Worthing as a coach.

Coach Cameron Morrison joined York City late in February 2024, arriving with Adam Hinshelwood and Gary Elphick from Worthing FC.
A graduate at the University of Chichester, Morrison studied a three-year Football Coaching and Performance degree between 2014-17.
Cam first began working at Worthing as a young coach in 2016., as well as being in charge of Portsmouth ladies’ development team.
The driven coach also took charge of the University of Chichester’s men’s first team.
Morrison worked at Worthing for eight years, covering the Development Centre with the Women’s team and with the Men’s first team as part of Hinshelwood’s coaching staff.

Tony McMahon joined the Minstermen in March 2023, initially alongside Mikey Morton.
He brings a wealth of experience from a distinguished playing career, having turned out for the likes of Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Blackpool, and Bradford City, amassing over 400 appearances in professional football and playing as high as the Premier League.
He launched his coaching career before his retirement from playing at Darlington in 2021, qualifying as a UEFA ‘A’ licensed coach and working with the academies at both Middlesbrough FC and Darlington before a spell in the first-team backroom staff at Scunthorpe United.
Whilst working as Assistant Manager for the Iron, he was appointed Caretaker Manager before the arrival of Keith Hill in the 2021/22 season.

Joe Stead joined York City in December 2022 from Leeds United, where he was the Professional Development Phase Goalkeeping Coach.
Stead joined the Whites in 2020, where he also had experience working with the first-team ‘keepers alongside Goalkeeping Coach Marcos Abad.
Prior to his time with Leeds, Stead was first-team Goalkeeping Coach at FC Halifax Town and academy Goalkeeping Coach at Wigan Athletic.

York City confirmed that goalkeeper Harrison Male had agreed to join the Minstermen upon the expiry of his contract in May 2024.
Male joined the club following a season at Dorking Wanderers, where he scooped up Young Player of The Year, Supporters Player of The Year, and Players’ Player of The Year accolades at the end of the 2023/24 season, alongside Player of the Month awards in August, September and March, after playing every competitive minute for them, bar the penultimate fixture of the campaign.
The shot-stopper is a product of the Leeds United academy, having spent over a decade coming through the youth ranks in West Yorkshire.
The goalkeeper has also represented England a few times between U15-17s level, as well as an England C appearance in 2023.
Male’s two-year spell at Worthing between 2021-23 concluded with 105 appearances at the Rebels, and the Players’ Player of the Year award.

York City announced the capture of goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee from Bradford (Park Avenue) in October 2023.
Sykes-Kenworthy departed Horsfall Stadium having featured 88-times for The Green Army across a spell just shy of two years.
The goalkeeper started his footballing journey with Bradford City at under-8 level within the Bantams’ Academy, signing his first professional contract (a two-year deal) with the club in March 2018.
The shot-stopper picked up an accolade in May 2018 and was named Bradford City’s ‘Youth Team Player of the Year’ for the 2017/18 season.
A loan move to Guiseley in the National League North followed in the summer of 2019, featuring nine-times with the Lions before then Bradford City boss Gary Bowyer recalled him.
His senior Bradford City debut came off the back of it, starting against Manchester City U21s in the EFL Trophy in September 2019. He then earned a further Bantams appearance in November that year, featuring against Rochdale in the EFL Trophy too.
Sykes-Kenworthy then spent a season with Derby County’s under-23 side after departing Bradford City in the summer of 2020. Signing in October, he accrued ten Premier League 2 appearances and kept three clean sheets before leaving in June 2021.
A deal with Boston United was agreed on the eve of the 2021/22 season, following a successful trial period, where he featured seven times for the Pilgrims before setting at Bradford (Park Avenue) later that year.
Sykes-Kenworthy has enjoyed the most consistent football in his career to date with The Green Army, keeping 25 clean sheets since signing in December 2021.
Following impressive performances during his time at the club, the 24-year-old was named as First Team Captain for the 2023/24 season, taking the role from an experienced Avenue veteran in Gianluca Havern.

York City were delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Rory Watson following his departure from League Two outfit Doncaster Rovers in August 2023.
The 27-year-old put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season with the Minstermen.
York-born Watson spent the 2022/23 season with National League champions Wrexham, having joined from Scunthorpe United where he made more than 100 appearances across League One and Two.
Watson bowed out of Glanford Park having picked up six end of season accolades, including the Ernie Storey Memorial Player of the Season for 2021-22.

The central defender departed Greenock Morton in the summer of 2024, having featured 68 times across all competitions for the Scottish team since 2022, to sign for the Minstermen.
Originally born in Croydon, England, O’Connor moved to Ireland in 2005 as a young child.
O’Connor made 20 appearances for Wexford in the First Division of Irish football as a youngster.
Performances at Wexford earnt him his first professional contract at Leicester City, signing for the Premier League outfit in August 2019.
A switch to Scotland followed signing for Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in 2021 and featuring for Queen of the South on loan in January 2022, making 17 appearances in total.

Joe Felix agreed to join the Minstermen upon the expiry of his contract at Worthing, following a successful year, in the summer of 2024.
Felix started his career as a Fulham scholar before moving across to QPR and heading on loan to Burgess Hill, Woking and Farnborough.
Other spells also saw him land at Hampton and Richmond Borough, Hendon, Maidstone United, Billericay Town and Torquay United in the National League.
Felix is a versatile player who can play across the right-hand flank and at the back, providing real flexibility again to Adam Hinshelwood.
Felix went from Dulwich Hamlet to Worthing in 2023, going on to feature 52 times for the Rebels initially under Hinsh.
Felix setup 15 goals in the 2023/24 season, scoring three of his own too.
His impressive performances were backed up at the end of the season by his peers, picking up the Player’s Player of the Season award.

Howe joined the Minstermen from fellow National League side Solihull Moors, where he was club captain, in the summer of 2023.
Born in Doncaster, Howe returned to Yorkshire to join York City for an undisclosed fee.
The central defender featured 122 times for Solihull Moors across a four year spell between 2019-23
Howe also has plenty of National League experience with the likes of Lincoln, Eastleigh, Southport and Alfreton.

Thierry joined the Minstermen in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer.
The defender operates mainly as a left-back, but being right-footed, can play on either side of the defence.
The former Nottingham Forest academy player broke into the senior squad at Burton Albion, and has four League One appearances to his name.
He has also turned out for Hereford and Guiseley in the National League North, making over 20 appearances for both sides.

Amsterdam-born Andoh became the Minstermen’s fifth new signing of the summer in 2023.
The defender began his career with Aston Villa’s academy, before going on to have spells in Non-League with Cradley Town and Worcester City.
Promising form earned a move to Ipswich Town in December 2019 after he featured several times for their U23 side on trial, and he made his debut for The Tractor Boys in an EFL Trophy match against Crawley Town a year later.
After a two-year stay in Suffolk, the 6ft 3in defender, who operates mainly on the right-hand side but can also play in central defence, then joined Hereford originally on a short-term loan deal.
After spending further loan spells with Buxton and Hednesford Town, Andoh re-joined National League North side Hereford in January.

Ryan Fallowfield joined York City in the summer of 2022 following the club’s promotion to the National League.
An energetic right back by trade well-known to York City supporters prior to his signature after playing against the club for North Ferriby United in the National League and Harrogate Town – where he played a pivotal role in their rise to the Football League.
He made a total of 168 appearances for Harrogate over the course of five seasons.
Fallowfield took the armband a number of times in the 2023/24 season before going on to win Clubman of the Year award for the season.

York City secured the signature of Adam Crookes in the summer of 2022, following the club’s promotion to the National League.
The left-sided defender began his youth career at Nottingham Forest, heading out on loan to Lincoln and Port Vale before signing permanently at Vale.
Crookes featured 49 times in League Two before moving on to Grimsby Town, who had just been relegated to the National League.
Grimsby Town were promoted from the National League at the first attempt in the 2021/22 season, with the defender contributing to their promotion by featuring 25 times that season.

Midfielder Ricky Aguiar signed on a permanent transfer from EFL League Two side Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee in July 2024, ending a three year spell
Aguiar broke into senior football down on the south coast with Worthing under manager Adam Hinshelwood.
Between 2018-21, the midfielder turned out over 90 times for Worthing and ended his first season as Managers’ and Players’ Player of the Year, retaining the former in 2019/20. Across the 95 appearances, he netted 15 goals.
Swindon Town snapped up the midfielder following a successful number of years at Worthing in 2021.
In his maiden Football League season, Aguiar featured 19 times and scored twice. He also featured in the National League South for Chippenham that season on loan, featuring in 14 games and scoring 7.
Across the 2022/23 season, another 13 appearances in the Football League were added to Aguiar’s tally. Aguiar began 2023/24 by securing a season-long loan back at Worthing. 30 appearances and 11 goals later, Swindon activated a clause to recall the midfielder in January 2024.
He turned out a further nine times for Swindon between then and the end of the 2023/24 season.

The midfielder put pen to paper on a three-year-deal in August 2023.
The battling midfielder brings vast experience at Football League level to the LNER Community Stadium, having featured 58 times in the Championship and 81 times at League One level with both Hull City and Fleetwood Town.

Dyson signed for City in September 2020 after being released by Huddersfield Town. Known for his versatility, Olly can play in centre midfield, right back or right wing.
He forged his way to be a regular in the 2021/22 season after a period out injured and finished last season’s promotion campaign with the top number of assists in the team.
Olly was voted Clubman of the Year by the supporters in the 2022/23 season and secured a two-year extension to his contract.

Midfielder Paddy McLaughlin became Steve Watson’s first signing as City manager when returning to the club in January 2019 on loan from Hartlepool United.
In his second spell with York after winning promotion to the Football League with the club in 2011.

York City signed attacker Tyrese Sinclair upon the expiry of his contract at Rochdale in May 2024.
Sinclair, who joined the Dale in 2022, played 34 games across all competitions last season, and ended the campaign with 11 goals to his name.
The forward began his youth career at Blackburn Rovers before settling at Mansfield Town in 2017, following a successful EFL trial day when he was just 17-years-old.
Loan spells with Radcliffe and Basford United followed for Sinclair, between 2019/20, experiencing senior men’s football for the first time.
Sinclair went on to feature 44 times for Mansfield during his spell, also heading out on loan to Scunthorpe United in League Two in his final Stags season.
Dale acquired the attacker’s service after release from Mansfield in the summer shortly after.
In total, Sinclair featured 70 times for Rochdale across his two-year spell, scoring 14.

Ollie Pearce joined the Minstermen from Worthing in 2024 following an incredibly successful six-year stint on England’s South Coast.
After several years at Bognor Regis Town, Pearce made the move along the coast in 2018 to join The Rebels.
Six years later, with 245 appearances under his belt, Pearce departed The Rebels with 155 goals to his name to link up with City.
Pearce initially scooped a Golden Boot (35 goals) and a place in the Premier Division Team of the Season, which added to his title winner’s medal in 2021/22.
The striker smashed through a century of goals in February 2023, making it 100 goals in just 178 appearances at the time, before again breaking through the 30 goal barrier to land himself in the National League South Team of the Year.
The 2023/24 campaign was yet another remarkable one for the striker as he scored 46 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions, winning the golden boot in the National League South by a distance.

York City announced that winger Ashley Nathaniel-George had agreed to join the Minstermen following the expiry of his contract at Maidenhead in summer 2024, following a two-year stay at York Road.
The winger spent his youth career at Arsenal, Watford, Wycombe, and Wealdstone, before moving to Potters Bar Town.
After an impressive season at Hendon, he joined League 2 side Crawley Town between 2018-20.
Nathaniel-George joined Maidenhead in September 2022 after spells at Southend in League Two and Torquay, winning Maidenhead’s Supporters Player of the Year in 2023.
The winger has also been capped for Antigua and Barbuda on several occasions, scoring once internationally.

York City announced the signing of Billy Chadwick in January 2023.
The forward penned a permanent deal with the Minstermen following his release from League Two’s Stockport County, where he signed in the summer of 2023 before heading out to Gateshead on loan.
Hull-born Billy joined The Tigers’ academy setup aged-11, working his way through the ranks for 12-years.
Several appearances across 2020 saw Billy given a professional contract extension until 2022, when a further option was taken to keep him until 2023.
FC Halifax Town acquired the services of the forward initially in December 2020, scoring on his debut against Hartlepool. He finished his one-month spell at The Shay with three goals in five appearances.
Three substitute appearances in League One, and one in the EFL Trophy, for Hull City eventually led to a second Shaymen spell, where a further two goals in 13 appearances followed.
Linfield, of the Northern Irish Football League, called for Chadwick in the 2021/22 season. The forward made 18 appearances for the Blues all together, including three in the UEFA Europa Conference League Qualifiers where scored one, before a serious knee injury ruled him out for the season.
Chadwick then spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at National League North side Boston United once recovered, scoring 11 goals in 20 appearances, and earned the division’s Goal of the Season award for an extraordinary long-range strike against Leamington.
Having joined Stockport County following his release from Hull City in the summer of 2023, the forward racked up 23 appearances, five goals and two assists for the Heed during his spell in the North East.

Dipo Akinyemi joined for an undisclosed fee from Ayr United in the summer of 2023 after finishing the season as the Scottish Championship top scorer and Player of the Year.
The forward scored 24 goals and made 11 assists in 45 appearances in all competitions in his 2022/23 campaign. Akinyemi has previously been prolific in National League South with Welling United and Dulwich Hamlet too.
A fans’ favourite at the LNER Community Stadium already, Akinyemi bagged 15 goals in his first Minstermen campaign to finish as top goalscorer and top assister.

Callum Harriott joined the Minstermen in the summer of 2023 from Yeovil Town.
The winger started his career at Charlton Athletic as a young child, going on to feature professionally for The Addicks 95 times across Championship campaigns.
Reading acquired his services in 2016 for an undisclosed fee from Chartlon, featuring 29 times before departing for Colchester United, where he’d previously been on loan in 2015.
Harriott made 87 appearances at Col U in total across his two spells.
A brief spell at Yeovil concluded with a move to York City in the summer of 2023.

John-Lewis has spent the majority of his career playing in the Football League for the likes of Lincoln City, Bury and Newport County.
After playing a key role in the National League North promotion season with City, John-Lewis was signed on a permanent deal and made City’s captain and top scorer in the 2022/23 season.

Kouhyar came through the ranks at Walsall before making 33 appearances in League One for the Saddlers. After an injury kept him out of the game for two years, he resurfaced at Hereford and in his debut season scored 5 goals in 30 appearances.
Maz can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder and made his debut in red and blue against Kettering in April 2022.
