Academy seeking new recruits for next season

By Dan Simmonite | 13th May 2021

York City Football Club is delighted to announce a set of open trials for 2020/21; U8, U9 & U14 age groups.

We are looking to add talented young players who are either excelling within grassroots football or leaving Premier League and Football League academies.

York City Academy prides itself on the environment it creates to aid the development of young footballers, through sessions led by UEFA B/A license coaches, a games programme in the Nerf Junior Premier League as well as a multitude of sports specific support.

We are also looking to recruit current U16’s for next seasons full time U19 programme. The U19’s programme is designed as the final step of the pathway into first team football at the club with the season 2020/21 first team squad including 8 academy graduates.

The U19’s programme is run in conjunction with York College where all students will study a BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence). The U19’s compete in the highly competitive U19’s National Alliance Academy League North.

Successful applicants from this trial would need to live close enough to York to be able to commute daily.

To attend a trial, please click here and fill out our online form.

For any questions relating to any of the programmes ran by the academy at York City please e-mail, Head of Youth Development, Dan Wilson:
