Introducing the York City Centenary Crest and Kit

By Dan Simmonite | 6th May 2022

York City Football Club is delighted to reveal their new Centenary badge and bespoke Puma kit for 2022/23.

The York Minster-inspired home shirt was unveiled at the iconic cathedral this afternoon on the club’s 100th Birthday.

The strip reverts back to the traditional colours of maroon, with gold Centenary accents to create a truly God-like feel and design.

The limited-edition kit is available for pre-order now exclusively from the online store, with delivery available worldwide.

In addition to the kit, the Minstermen have a one-off Centenary club crest with a modern take on the much-loved late 1900s badge which includes the Bootham Bar with two lions either side.

Fans were heavily involved in the design process which started last year, with club surveys and fan focus groups established to gauge direction on the new identity.

Football Brand Designer Christopher Payne was hired to complete the design, who had previously worked with football clubs and organisations across the world.

The new branding will change over on June 1st 2022, and will run for the duration of the 2022/23 season.

An away and alternate strip will be released at a later stage this summer in the build-up to the new campaign.
