Ethan Ross joins on loan from Stockport

By Dan Simmonite | 1st July 2022

Goalkeeper Ethan Ross has signed for York City on loan from Stockport County.

The 6ft 5in shot-stopper will remain with the Minstermen for the duration of the 2022/23 season.

Ross, aged 25, came through the youth teams of Arsenal and West Brom, where he was coached by club legend Dean Kiely, and has since turned out for Colchester United in League Two before joining Lincoln City and then Stockport last summer.

The goalkeeper adds to John Askey’s current squad which now sits at 17 players ahead of the new season.

Upon joining the club Ross said: “I have quite a bit of experience behind me for my age and I’m hoping to bring that here and add some value to the team.

“I need to try and emulate the performances [Pete Jameson] put in for the club but I need to try and do that my way. Hopefully if I can do that it will stand us in good stead in terms of the league and winning games.”

The deal is subject to FA and National League approval.
