Kingsley James to remain at York City

By Dan Simmonite | 24th June 2022

We can confirm that Kingsley James will remain in the dugout with John Askey after signing a new contract with the club.

The Yorkshire-born coach joined the club to assist John Askey in November last year and together they led the team to promotion back to the National League.

Only 30-years-old, James has already coached at Sheffield United, Port Vale, and Hereford as well as working with former City players Dave McGurk and John McCombe at their football academy.

His playing career saw him turn out for Port Vale, Chester, Halifax Town and Macclesfield Town - where he worked with John Askey.

James will report back for pre-season training on 1st July.
