Ladies team start season strongly

By Dan Simmonite | 26th October 2020

York City Ladies have started the season well, building upon their North Riding Senior Cup final win with two wins from three in the North East Regional Women’s League Premier.

The Minsterbelles began with a 5-1 victory away to Redcar Town last month before a 4-2 win over Sheffield Wednesday and most recently a 2-2 draw against Hartlepool United.

Chris Hamilton’s side now sit second, only on goal difference to Hartlepool and look forward to what promises to be a successful season for female football at the club.

The ladies play in the fifth tier of the English women’s football division and are run through the York City FC Foundation.

They play home games at York St. John University’s Sports Park at Haxby Road and you can keep up to date with the latest news via their Twitter account.
