Player Catering Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: York City Football Club Training Ground
Salary: £18,000 per annum
Hours: Approximately 8:00am – 2:00pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (occasional Saturdays may be required)
About the Role
York City Football Club is looking for a reliable and organised Player Catering Assistant to support the day-to-day catering operation at our training ground.
This is an important role in ensuring our players and staff receive a professional dining experience. You will be responsible for preparing the dining area, presenting food supplied by our catering partner, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and ensuring the catering facilities are well organised throughout the day.
This role does not involve cooking or preparing meals from scratch. Instead, you’ll be responsible for setting up, serving and maintaining the catering environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare the dining area before breakfast and lunch service.
* Receive food deliveries from the catering supplier.
* Display and replenish food during service.
* Ensure water, juices, hot drinks and other refreshments are fully stocked.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming dining environment.
* Clear tables and clean down catering areas after each service.
* Wash and store crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
* Monitor food presentation and report any issues to the appropriate member of staff.
* Ensure food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
* Manage stock of drinks, consumables and cleaning materials.
* Assist with occasional hospitality or catering requirements on matchdays or special events.
About You

Previous experience in hospitality, catering, cafés, restaurants or similar customer service roles would be an advantage but is not essential.
A Food Hygiene Certificate would be desirable, although training can be provided.
