Four York City players have been included in Team of the Weeks following our latest 4-0 home victory over Yeovil Town.

It is no surprise to see Ollie Pearce named in both the Vanarama National League and the Non-League Paper Team of the Week, following his first hat-trick in City colours.

Goal number one came from a cleverly driven free-kick under the wall and into the bottom corner, giving us the lead after only eleven minutes.

Malachi Fagan-Walcott earned his spot in the Team of the Week too, assisting the striker’s second with a lovely through ball for Pearce to latch onto, and squeeze home past the ‘keeper to make it 3-0.

To cap off the treble and become the league’s joint-top scorer, the 29-year-old glanced home a looping header from Alex Hunt’s perfectly placed corner, which completed the scoring on 71 minutes.

A significant contributor in the middle of the park, Hunt’s efforts were awarded with yet another inclusion in the Vanarama National League’s TOTW, his second in two weeks.

Joe Felix didn’t go unnoticed either at full-back, recording his tenth clean sheet for the season, with another excellent shift put in on Saturday.

Congratulations Ollie, Alex, Malachi, and Joe – keep it up, lads!
