24-year-old centre half, who came through the ranks at Irish side UCD, and has previously played for Warrenpoint, Waterford, Harrogate Town and Wealdstone.
Kouogun has also featured in UCD’s Europa League qualifying campaign in 2015/16 and has made just under 150 senior appearances so far in his professional career.
The Cameroonian impressed manager John Askey on trial and in a behind closed doors friendly game in January, leading to the contract offer until the end of the season.
