The Young Minstermen begin their EFL Youth Alliance Cup journey away at Lincoln City on Wednesday evening.
After falling to defeat at Morecambe at the weekend, York City U18s can return to winning ways as they look to advance in the cup.
Kick-off at the Gen2 Energy Elite Performance Centre is set for 6pm.
City registered their first point in the league away at Preston on opening day, but despite an early opener from Elvis Hall on Saturday at Morecambe, the match ended in defeat.
Lincoln have enjoyed an unbeaten start so far, coming away from Port Vale with a point before emerging 3-2 victors over Preston on matchday two.
Despite being pegged back twice in the game, the Imps managed to pip the Lilywhites to all three points, with Leo Fifield notably scoring his second goal of the campaign.
Our last appearance in this knockout competition came against Hartlepool United in October 2016.
Lincoln were beaten by Salford City in the First Round last year.
