York City FC are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old centre-back Kevin Joshua following his exit from Scottish League One side Peterhead FC.
Irish-born Joshua started his career at Dublin-based club Johnstown FC, before moving to England where he was picked up by Solihull Moors initially.
The 6ft 6in defender was signed by West Bromwich Albion and played regularly in their Premier League 2 development side, alongside fellow new signing Quevin Castro.
The left-footer is noted for his ball-playing ability, and he has tasted senior football during loan spells with Kettering Town and Waterford, before plying his trade in the third tier of Scotland with Peterhead upon his exit from the Hawthorns.
On joining the Minstermen, Joshua said: “I’m very excited. I’m grateful, that’s the only word I can really use to explain today.
“I’m a different type of defender, I love the ball at my feet and love to express myself and help the team.
“It’s a big club, a big fanbase, so I’m looking forward to the season and hopefully we push on.”
The deal is subject to National League and FA Approval.
