York City secure Tyrese Sinclair as latest summer signing

York City are delighted to reveal that attacker Tyrese Sinclair has agreed to join the Minstermen upon the expiry of his contract.

It’s a fifth summer signing for City (commencing from July 1st), following four announcements made in one day on Saturday, May 25th.

Tyrese Sinclair joins the Minstermen from Rochdale, where he signed permanently in 2022.

After 34 games across all competitions last season, the forward ended the campaign with 11 goals to his name.

The 23-year-old began his youth career at Blackburn Rovers before settling at Mansfield Town in 2017, following a successful EFL trial day when he was just 17-years-old.

Sinclair scooped Stags’ Player of the Year at Mansfield’s academy in his first season, helping the side win the 2017/18 EFL Youth Alliance title.

Loan spells with Radcliffe and Basford United followed for Sinclair, between 2019/20, experiencing senior men’s football for the first time.

Sinclair made his League Two debut against Tranmere Rovers at the One Call Stadium in August 2020.

The attacker featured 23 times throughout 2020/21, netting his first senior goal against Newport in a one-all draw towards the backend of the season.

Sinclair went on to feature 44 times for Mansfield during his spell, also heading out on loan to Scunthorpe United in League Two in his final Stags season.

The Iron saw the attacker turn out 14 times in claret and blue between January and May of 2022.

Dale acquired the attacker’s service after release from Mansfield in the summer shortly after.

A loan switch to Altrincham saw Sinclair feature 14 times between February and April 2023 for the National League side, scoring six goals across all competitions before being recalled.

In total, Sinclair featured 70 times for Rochdale across his two-year spell, scoring 14.

Welcome to the Minstermen, Tyrese!
