York City first team players Alex Hunt, Joe Felix and Harrison Male visited Fulford School this week as part of a Junior Reds prize.
November’s Junior Reds draw was bring a player to school prize won by young supporter Freddie!
After discovering the youngster’s favourite players, we sent Alex Hunt, Joe Felix and Harrison Male down to meet him and his fellow classmates.
The lads engaged in an after school football session before taking questions from the group.
Mr Russell, who led the session, said: “It was a pleasure to have York City visit the school on Monday evening, and well done to Fred for making it all happen!
“The Y8 boys that attended the session really enjoyed the chance to showcase their skills in front of three very-talented York City players.
“Alex Hunt, Harrison Male and Joe Felix were excellent role models from the moment they arrived, answering some interesting questions from the students including ‘what do you eat for your pre-match meal’ and ‘do you have a swimming pool at your house’!”
“They also took time to have photographs and sign autographs. We thank them once again for taking the time out to give our young people an experience they will remember for a lifetime.”
Ms Birkby, Head of Careers, also said: “Harrison, Alex and Joe took their time to speak to all the students answering their questions, taking photographs and signing autographs.
“The students were able to gain first-hand knowledge of what it is like to be a Footballer as well as picking up some helpful hints and tips which will stand them in good stead for any future career they pursue.”
Club staff also delivered assemblies on their careers, showcasing the different types of career paths in football aside from being a player.
“I would like to thank Steve, Kai, Cameron, Harrison, Alex and Joe for providing an amazing experience for Fulford students that they will treasure forever, thank you.” added Ms Birkby.
