Tim Ryan is the club’s U19 Manager, who manages the Young Minstermen in the National League Alliance Academy North and the FA Youth Cup.
He has been with the club since November 2018, having previously spent time as Assistant Manager at Stalybridge Celtic, Chester City and Buxton earlier in his coaching career.
The former Doncaster Rovers left-back helped the U19’s win the National League Academy Cup during the 2022/23 season, where they beat Woking 1-0 in the final at St Georges Park in Burton.
The club’s Head of Youth has been working within football for over twenty years and has just entered his sixth season in his role with the Minstermen.
Wilson originally joined the club in November 2016 as an U9’s coach, before working his way up the coaching ladder to become Foundation Phase Lead Coach with City.
City’s Head of Youth currently holds his UEFA B licence, and has also previously completed a Masters Degree where he achieved a Distinction in Sports Coaching.
Returned to the club this summer as a PDP coach to assist Tim Ryan and the U19’s side.
Currently a UEFA A Licence holder, Thwaite first joined the Minstermen coaching set-up as a YDP Coach in 2021, before going on to work within the first-team set-up under John Askey an an analyst.
Following the departure of Askey, he was part of the interim first-team staff under Tim Ryan, before being made a permanent member of staff as First Team Coach.
John is the club’s designated Talent Hub Coach at Thirsk High School, who also works within the Minstermen’s Academy

Young goalkeeper who joined the club this summer after signing his first professional contract with the Minstermen.
A former Huddersfield Town youth-teamer, Taylor spent last season at Northallerton Town on loan gaining regular minutes in men’s first-team football.
Young goalkeeper who joined the Minstermen at U14 level. The former Seaton Carew youngster is a strong shot-stopper and possesses strong handling skills, and he feels he’ll bring lots of communication into the youth-team this season.
Young left-back who joined the club at U16 level and has recently joined the youth-team. The former Boro Rangers player brings communication skills to the backline, leadership qualities and hard work-rate.
The former Pocklington Town and Stamford Bridge youngster joined the Minstermen at U15 level. As a York supporter himself, he intends to bring strong communication to the youth-team this season, and feels he is a tough tackler and stronger header of the ball.

Defensive midfielder who joined the Minstermen at U9 level. Also able to operate at full-back, he is a strong passer and technical player, who is determined to earn a professional contract in the future with the Minstermen.
Young attacking midfielder who joined the Minstermen at U16 level. The former Doncaster Rovers youngster is a strong dribbler of the ball and he aims to earn a professional contract with the club in the future.
The former Hull City and Scarborough Athletic midfielder is now entering his second year in the youth team set-up. The central midfielder originally joined York at U14 level and he feels he is a confident passer of the ball and a good tackler. He aims to earn a professional contract at the club.
Central midfielder who joined the club at U13 level. He’s a confident passer with an eye of vision, who isn’t afraid to put his foot into a tackle when required. His future ambition is to earn a professional deal with the Minstermen and grow into the first-team set up.
Young central midfielder who joined the club at U12 level. Having previously played grassroots football at Tadcaster Magnets, he feels he has become a good passer of the ball and he aims to earn himself a professional contract in the future.

Left-sided midfielder who joined the club at U14 level. The pacy winger has just entered his second season in the U19’s and he aims to earn himself a professional contract in the future.
Young right winger who joined the Minstermen at U9 level. A player with quick and good feet, he hopes to earn himself a professional contract in the future with the club.
The former Harrogate winger joined the club at U16 level. He’s a pacy winger, who has high stamina and a strong work-rate, who would like to forge a career for himself within the professional game.

Dynamic player who joined the youth team in the 2021/22 season from Pickering Town. The versatile midfielder is a confident dribbler, who can take someone on with pace and can pick out a man in the box with a cross. He signed a pro contract with the club before commencement of the 2023/24 season.
