Academy groups attend Football Aftercare Programme led by North Riding FA

York City Academy U13s, U14s, U15s, and U16s attended our second After Care Programme of the season last Tuesday evening at York College.

It has long been recognised that leaving a talent development programme can be a challenging period for all involved. In response, York City FC Academy continues to develop and deliver its After Care Programme, now in its fourth year.

The Academy remains fully committed to ensuring players are aware of, and supported in pursuing, alternative career pathways alongside their football development.

The session was delivered in partnership with the North Riding FA, who presented the FA’s newly introduced Clubmaker initiative to the groups.

Designed to highlight the wide range of opportunities available within football beyond playing, the initiative focuses on how young people can take their first steps into volunteering in the game, and the longer-term opportunities that can develop from those experiences.

The session was presented by Chris Wood, Clubs and Facilities Development Officer at the North Riding FA, who discussed a variety of off-the-pitch roles and explored the motivations behind getting involved in the game.

The Club would like to thank the North Riding FA for delivering an engaging and informative session.
