A year ago, representatives from York City Football Club Foundation, The Family Fund, Azets and Wilkin Chapman Rollits came together to create Making Connections.
Doing exactly what it “says on the tin”, with the aim of making connections and building relationships with more businesses especially around Monks Cross, Vangarde and Huntington.
Bi-monthly events have now been running since November, with a range of business breakfasts and activity style events to appeal to as many local leaders and businesses as possible.
Paula Stainton, YCFC Foundation CEO, said “We are very excited for our next event as it has a proper Yorkshire theme with a Yorkshire Quiz, Flat Cap hunt, refreshments and cream tea, alongside the key opportunity to network. We just couldn’t let Yorkshire Day pass without a proper Yorkshire celebration and also what a great way to end the week. This event is being hosted by our friends at Bo Concept, Monks Cross on Friday 31st July 4-6pm.”
Gill Bell, Events and Community Fundraiser for Family Fund said, “What is unique about Making Connections events is that these regular events, also raise vital funds for the two charity organisations involved, with £500 raised for the two charity organisers, as well as making over 100 connections at previous events.”
The Family Fund makes life better for families raising disabled and seriously ill children, by providing grants and practical support to make day-to-day living easier and more enjoyable; and information, connections and skills to empower families.
York City Football Club Foundation transforms lives, whilst developing connections in the community, and advocating for active, healthy and happy living in York and surrounding areas.
With the launch of three events for the remainder of 2026, the organisers have also added to the organising team to represent the expanded geographical reach for Making Connections. All Aspects Travel in Haxby, reflects the expansion for businesses based in or operating within North East York (YO32 postcodes, Haxby, Wigginton, Layerthorpe, Strensall etc).
If you think you/your business would benefit from networking with like-minded individuals, book onto the next event, save the future dates, follow the Eventbrite page to ensure to receive notifications as new events are added.
