In April 2022, York City Football Club Academy will be holding open trials for the U8 – U16 age groups for next season.
The Football club has often featured local youngsters in it’s first team, which can be traced back to the earliest fixtures in the 1920s, with players such as Richard Cresswell, Graeme Murty and Ben Godfrey coming through the youth set-up at the club and gone on to play at a higher level.
We have a couple of days where trials will be held and dedicated to certain age groups, which are as follows:

Monday 3rd April 2023
3.00 – 5.00pm | U7s, U8s and U9s*
Tuesday 4th April 2023
3.00 – 5.00pm | U10s, U11s, and U12s*
Thursday 6th April 2023
3.00 – 5.00pm | U13s, U14s, and U15s*
*Please note, all age groups are as of the 2022/23 season.

Once you have registered your place, please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the designated session for your age group.
All players will need to wear appropriate footwear for a grass pitch, appropriate clothing to take part in a practical football session, shin pads, and ensure you bring a drink along with you on the day.
During the trial, academy coaches will deliver a short session, followed by some small-sided games.
Following your trial, York City Academy will contact you via e-mail to confirm the next steps within 2 weeks of the final trial date.
