Lenell John-Lewis will go down in City history for his crucial goals and efforts during the last four seasons – he importantly netted in all three games during our 2022 play-off campaign, before going on to finish the following season as the club’s top scorer. His work was far from done there, though, finding the back of the net another 15 times over the last two seasons.

Olly Dyson arrived here as a 19-year-old, and now leaves six years later as a promotion winner and former Clubman of the Year, while Maz Kouhyar also departs with a National League North Play-Off Final win to his name, having scored in the final to fire us into the fifth tier.

Adam Crookes has spent three years with us, tallying up 60 appearances and chipping in with six goals from defence.

Levi Andoh, Thierry Latty-Fairweather, and Zanda Siziba all signed at the start of 2023/24, and have made a number of appearances – we thank them for their efforts and wish them well in their future career.

Alex Hernandez joined our youth set-up in the 2022/23 season, and impressed with his outstanding goalscoring record – he earned his first professional contract before the start of 2023/24 and went on to make his York City debut off the bench in the FA Cup this season.

Speaking on the retained list, manager Adam Hinshelwood said, “I’d like to thank all those departing us for their loyalty, hard work and dedication they’ve shown to the club.

“They’ve all shown maturity and professionalism in every sector at York and we wish them well for the future.”

The club places on record its thanks to departing players for their efforts during their time with York City, and wishes them well for the future.
