Tim Ryan is the club’s U19 Manager, who manages the Young Minstermen in the National League Alliance Academy North and the FA Youth Cup.
He has been with the club since November 2018, having previously spent time as Assistant Manager at Stalybridge Celtic, Chester City and Buxton earlier in his coaching career.
The former Doncaster Rovers left-back helped the U19’s win the National League Academy Cup during the 2022/23 season, where they beat Woking 1-0 in the final at St Georges Park in Burton.
The club’s Head of Youth has been working within football for over twenty years and has just entered his sixth season in his role with the Minstermen.
Wilson originally joined the club in November 2016 as an U9’s coach, before working his way up the coaching ladder to become Foundation Phase Lead Coach with City.
City’s Head of Youth currently holds his UEFA B licence, and has also previously completed a Masters Degree where he achieved a Distinction in Sports Coaching.

Midfielder who has been within the York City ranks for a number of years, and has captained almost every age group.
The skipper is in his first U19s season, but has been successful in different age groups over the years, most recently with the U16s – a North Riding Cup final victory to clinch silverware.

Scored a double in the North Riding Cup Final win over Evolution with the U16s in 2024/25.
Hewson has already netted twice in the FA Youth Cup this season, against Bradford Park Avenue and Boro Rangers.
Attacker in his first year with the U19s.
Known as a set-piece specialist – can dispatch from free-kicks or from the penalty spot.
Scored an incredible first-half hat-trick in our 6-0 FA Youth Cup win over Bradford Park Avenue, and went on to score against Stockport Town in the same competition too.

Winger who is in his second year with the U19s.
Kettlewell went on an incredible scoring run in 2024/25, recording eleven goals in as many games at one stage in the season.
Despite an injury set-back, he has had a decent start to this one too, scoring off the bench against Bradford Park Avenue in the FA Youth Cup.
The 18-year-old was also named in Stuart Maynard’s first-team matchday squad when we travelled to Barnsley in the Emirates FA Cup in November 2025.
Days later, Kettlewell made his professional debut off the bench during a 4-0 win over Gateshead in the Enterprise National League.
