York City will be looking to build on Tuesday’s impressive victory when they face Forest Green Rovers at the New Lawn this Saturday (5:30 pm kick-off).
Maynard’s side thrashed promotion chasers Carlisle United in mid-week. Fagan-Walcott with the opener before an Ollie Pearce brace took the scores to three at halftime. Two second-half goals from Newby and Stones rounded off a perfect night for the Minstermen.
Forest Green have enjoyed an impressive start to the season under new boss Robbie Savage. They currently sit top of the National League, three points clear of Rochdale.
They battled Altrincham to a 2-1 victory in mid-week courtesy of goals from Haughton and Innis.
The last time these two sides faced each other was back in March, also in front of the DAZN cameras, when both teams played out a 1-1 draw at the LNER.
