Junior Reds Takeover Day Recap

It was an exciting afternoon for ten lucky Junior Reds on Saturday when we faced Eastleigh, as they took on a variety of matchday roles.

For the second year running, we hosted our Junior Reds Takeover Day, which was a huge success once again.

Arthur and Charlie were in the building early to assist kit and equipment manager Lewis in setting up the dressing room for the players.

Elsie and Rory worked pitchside alongside our media team to capture content throughout the afternoon. Check out our social media from the day to see some of their work!

They also got the chance to interview first-team coach Gary Elphick after the match – watch that here.

George and Thea helped Matt with the sound system and chose the matchday playlist.

You may have heard some different voices over the tannoy at the weekend – Henry and Oscar were on the mic with Rob, and got to announce the lineups and even some of our goals!

Finally, Robyn and Edie spent the day up in the gantry with York Hospital Radio commentator Paul, and former City manager Mikey Morton.

If you were tuning in from afar, you may have heard them on the match stream, which was broadcast live by DAZN.

Thank you to all the Junior Reds who were involved in the day. We hope you had a fantastic experience and enjoyed going behind the scenes in different roles.
