We are delighted to reveal the signing of Mark Shelton, who will join the Minstermen upon the expiry of his contract at Barnet FC.
The midfielder will join City officially on the 1st July.
Mark began his career through the youth setups at Nottingham Forest and Burton Albion.
In 2016, he made his first permanent move to Ilkeston before joining Alfreton Town shortly after.
His first professional highlight came with Salford City whom he played a key part in their promotion to the football league for the first time ever.
He repeated the same feat in his next move to Hartlepool United, where he featured over 90 times. Achieving promotion to the EFL via the play-offs in 2021.
Shelton then spent a season at Oldham before becoming a fans’ favourite at Barnet, where he gained his third National League promotion, this time as a champion.
In League Two last season, the 29-year-old featured 40 times for the Bees, helping them to an 8th-place finish.
He will now join up with the Minstermen in the summer after departing Barnet.
