York City are pleased to announce that academy prospects Ben Farrar and Ethan Stiver have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
Farrar becomes the latest player to progress through the club’s academy pathway and into the professional ranks following a couple of impressive campaigns at U19 level.
The forward scored nine goals for the young Minstermen last season in all competitions, but spent most of the year on loan with Bridlington Town and Whitby Town, netting eight for the former.
He was also awarded the Academy Player of the Year at our End of the Season Awards Evening, and was named in Stuart Maynard’s matchday squad as we travelled to Brackley Town.
Stiver joined the club ahead of the 2025/26 season and has enjoyed a strong first year in North Yorkshire, earning recognition for his academy performance with an involvement in a first-team matchday squad.
Originally from British Columbia, the 18-year-old previously spent time in the academy at AFC Bournemouth and back in Canada with Vancouver Whitecaps, before making the move to York.
Congratulations, Ben and Ethan!
