Club to open first ever city centre store.

York City Football Club are delighted to announce the opening of the club’s first-ever city centre pop-up shop, in partnership with Fenwick York.

Brilliantly British in style and spirit, Fenwick is the UK’s largest family-owned group of department stores and a key shopping destination in the heart of York, making it the perfect setting for the club’s first city centre pop-up.

Donna Bolton, Store Director at Fenwick York, said: “We’re proud to be partnering with York City Football Club and to welcome their first city centre pop-up to Fenwick York. As a business with a longstanding presence in York, supporting our local community is hugely important to us, and we’re excited to bring our two brands together and offer supporters a new way to connect with the club in the heart of the city.”

Pete Sutton, Business Development Officer at York City Football Club, said: “It’s fantastic to be working with such a key UK high street retailer and to enable the club to offer merchandise in the city centre. Our trial at last year’s Christmas Markets showed us that there is a real opportunity among both local fans and visitors to the city, so to be able to build on this within such an iconic department store is extremely exciting for the club.”

Players from both the men’s and women’s first teams visited Fenwick York earlier this week, wearing the club’s new collegiate tee and hoody collection. The limited-edition collaboration with the York Revolution baseball team will be one of a handful of collections to receive an exclusive launch period at Fenwick.

The pop-up, situated on the ground floor of Fenwick York, will open on Thursday 27 August. To celebrate the opening, a special player meet-and-greet and signing session will take place on the day, with further details to be announced next week.
