Here’s another look at how some of our academy players are getting on while out on dual-registration…
On Good Friday, Eddie Kettlewell and Ben Farrar both started for Bridlington Town against Blyth Town in the Northern Premier League East Division.
Brid started off the better of the two sides and took the lead through Farrar in the 14th minute.
The City U19 striker had begun the season with the Seasiders, scoring a number of goals before a brief stint at Whitby Town – this was his first goal since returning to the club.
Just before the half-hour mark, Kettlewell got his name on the scoresheet too, smashing home from inside the box.
Farrar was quick to grab his brace, though, powering the ball past the ‘keeper on the half-volley shortly before the break.
Though unable to secure his hat-trick, the number nine did assist in a further Brid goal, winning a penalty which Ahmed Salam would convert.
Speaking to Bridlington Town media after the game, Farrar talked through his goals: “The first one is a lovely striker’s finish, it came across to me, and I just tapped it away. The second one, I scored and then saw it given offside, so I was a bit confused, and then everyone came over to me, celebrating. It’s good to score two again.”
In addition to the fantastic performance against Blyth Town, Kettlewell also picked up the club’s ‘Player of the Month’ award for March, voted for by the fans.

Both played ninety minutes on Easter Monday too, but faced a tough test in the form of league winners Redcar Athletic, who won 2-1.
Oz Shaw played the full game for Pickering Town in their season finale away at title winners Liversedge, who netted twice early on to secure the points, but a bright showing from the Pikes was reported.
Adam Tweed came off the bench for the final 35 minutes of Ossett United’s league game against Brighouse Town, before starting in Monday’s fixture too.
