We can confirm that Dipo Akinyemi has left the club to join Derry City on a permanent deal.
The forward ends his two-season spell with the club to join the side sitting second in the Irish Premier Division.
Dipo joined the club in the summer of 2023 and played a vital part in the club’s survival that season, scoring 15 goals in 40 league matches, earning him the club’s golden boot award for the 2023/24 season.
He scored his last goal in our final home league match of the 24/25 season when he grabbed one in added time against Solihull Moors.
In total, the 28-year-old featured over 70 times for the Minstermen, bagging 19 goals in the league and FA Cup as well as registering 16 assists.
Everyone at York City FC would like to thank Dipo for his services in a York shirt and wish him the very best for the future.
Subject to FA and league approval as well as international clearance.
