INTRODUCING OUR CHARITY PARTNERS
York City Football Club are proud to champion three official, local charity partners for the 2025/26 season.
The charity shortlist featured numerous fantastic organisations who make a real impact across the region, and align with the football club’s values.
Co-Chair Julie-Anne Uggla selected three individual organisations from the shortlist as those who the club will work closely with for the season ahead.
Each charity will have their own dedicated focus fixture, allowing each charity to showcase themselves on their own dedicated match day with us all at the LNER Community Stadium.
Age UK York
Age UK York is York’s local and independent Age UK. We have existed for over 50 years to be there to help tackle these challenges and aim to be the first port of call for anyone with an age-related need.
In York more than one in four of residents have shared that they experience loneliness and across our city, a third of older people live alone.
We cannot take on this crisis alone. We need your help and trust so together we can offer this lifeline to older people in need across York.
We are hoping to raise funds so that we can continue to offer friendship, support at home, help and advice about finances and deliver warm winter packs.
All the funds kindly given in support of Age UK York’s Winter Campaign – every single penny – will go to supporting local people in York.
Every person matters. Our wonderful team of staff and volunteers tackle these scourges of loneliness, isolation and poverty each day providing an array of services, a helping hand and a listening ear. You can play a crucial role in our story, and those we help, by kindly supporting our local charity and the difference we can make. Together.
940,000 older people aged 65+ in the UK say they’re often or always lonely. So many of us are so fortunate to have older relatives, friends and neighbours and please help us be there for fellow older residents of York this winter and beyond.
Let’s Stamp Out Loneliness. Together.

ANDYSMANCLUB

ANDYSMANCLUB run peer-to-peer support groups for men over 18 going through storms in their lives, every Monday at 7pm excluding bank holidays.
Groups are free to attend with no registration required. The group was founded after the death by suicide of Andy Roberts. Andy gave no indication to his family that he was suicidal, as a result, his brother-in-law, Luke Ambler, and mother, Elaine Roberts, founded ANDYSMANCLUB in the hope that men
who struggled to open up had a safe space to do so.

The Island
The Island is a charity in York providing islands of space and time for children and young people, aged 8-18 years; building confidence, self-esteem and unlocking potential through positive mentoring relationships and unique programmes.
Mentoring comes in all shapes and sizes and our aim is to grow, evolve and most importantly adapt to the ever changing needs of children and young people.
Why youth mentoring matters
Trusted Relationships Change Lives – A consistent, caring adult mentor provides emotional stability, trust, and belonging – all vital for young people facing adversity.
Reduces Risk of Crime & Harmful Behaviour – Early mentoring helps prevent risky behaviour, such as substance misuse or involvement in crime, by providing guidance and positive alternatives.
Boosts Mental Health & Confidence – Mentored young people report feeling more confident, less isolated, and better equipped to manage stress and emotions.
Improves School Engagement & Aspirations – Mentoring keeps young people connected to learning, reducing absenteeism and increasing educational ambition and attainment.
Prepares Young People for a Better Future – Mentoring builds life skills, resilience, and hope – creating stronger pathways into employment, training, and adulthood.
