Dedicated Remembrance Fixture confirmed versus Hartlepool United

York City will honour those who paid the ultimate sacrifice at our upcoming Vanarama National League fixture at home to Hartlepool United (12.30pm kick off).

All supporters, staff and players in attendance are invited to come together to show support for the Armed Forces community and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We, York City Football Club, commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.

In honour of that, York City Football Club refreshed our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant in October. Supporters can see that here.

Prior to kick off, military personnel and representatives from both clubs will walk out together alongside a standard-bearer.

Military will also lead match officials and players out with the match ball.

Wreaths will be laid on the pitch by both club representatives prior to a sounding of the Last Post.

All supporters, staff and players will then pay their respects with a minute’s silence, ended by the sound of the referee’s whistle.

On the day of the game, the following stalls will also be located outside the front of the East Stand.

  • Poppy Appeal/York Sea Cadets
  • OpCourage
  • Our City Hub
  • Scotty’s Little Soldiers
  • Fostering Team
  • York Learning

We look forward to seeing everybody in attendance. Secure your tickets before Friday 11.59pm if you haven’t already.
