FA Youth Cup Match Preview | Bradford City U18s vs York City U18s

York City U18s are set for the LNER Community Stadium on Wednesday 19th November (7pm kick-off) when they take on Bradford City U18s in the FA Youth Cup Second Round.

Originally scheduled to be played at Valley Parade, the venue was switched due to maintenance works, so the Minstermen will act as the away team for this game.

The occasion will be a landmark one for the club, marking the first ever appearance of a York City Academy side at the LNER.

It’s also our first time in the Second Round of the FA Youth Cup since 2014, when we lost out to Crewe Alexandra, with future Premier League defender Ben Godfrey featuring for us that day.

To get this far, City have progressed through three rounds. Our campaign began with a 6-0 win over Bradford Park Avenue, followed by an entertaining 5-2 victory against Boro Rangers. Then, in the First Round, it was Stockport Town who we defeated, by four goals to two.

Our opponents, Bradford City, have only had to win one game to reach this stage, with them being an EFL League One outfit.

They fell behind early on at home to Stockton Town, but managed to fight back and claim a 5-3 win.

The reward for the winner of this all-Yorkshire tie is a tantalizing trip to Crystal Palace in the Third Round.
