Loan Watch | Main nets two in two up at high-flying Blyth Spartans

In today’s edition of ‘Loan Watch’, we look back at how some of the players are getting on during loan spells at fellow clubs as well as their upcoming fixtures.

Cedric Main

After joining the Minstermen from Blyth Spartans in the summer, the forward recently re-joined his former club on a loan deal until January 2024.

The Spartans have continued their fast start to the National League North season, picking up five wins from their opening 8 fixtures.

On-loan striker Cedric Main has been amongst the goals during his four appearances, netting twice in as many games against Boston and Farsley Celtic during the week. Cedric also setup a further two goals during Blyth’s 4-0 rout of Farsley Celtic.

The striker will travel to Chester this upcoming Saturday with the Spartans as they look to continue their impressive start to the campaign.

Finlay Barnes

After netting a brace on his opening game for Darlo, Barnes has gone on to start in all other fixtures since during his one-month loan spell.

His most recent game coming midweek against Boston, where a scoreless draw got a point on the board for the County Durham-based side.

Darlington have continued their struggling start to the campaign which eventually saw manager Alun Armstrong relieved of his duties this week.

Barnes will travel far south to face Bishop’s Stortford in the Vanarama National League this Saturday as the Quakers adjust to life without Alun Armstrong.

Sam Sanders

The defender has racked up eight appearances for the White Tigers so far this season during his loan spell until January 2024.

Sitting in 11th place, Sanders has recorded two clean sheets within the defensive setup so far this season for Truro, picking up three wins in the process.

Truro travel to Havant & Waterloo this coming Saturday, who sit bottom of the Vanarama National League South so far this season with four points.

Jonny Haase

Left-back Jonny Haase, who is on three-month loan from City, continues to make the bench for Stockton Town.

The Anchors currently sit in 6th place, just shy of the play-off positions in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division.

Jonny and Stockton Town host Pontefract Colleries in the Isuzu FA Trophy following defeat last Saturday away at Warrington Rylands in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round.
