Match Preview | Guisborough Town vs York City

The Minstermen start their North Riding Senior Cup campaign tomorrow evening when we make a trip to the King George V Stadium to take on Guisborough Town FC. 

The two sides will meet in the 2nd Round of the competition this coming midweek as they’ll look to join the likes of Scarbrough Athletic and Redcar Athletic in the next round.

Guisborough head into this cup fixture on the back of Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home against Newcastle Benfield in the Ebac Northern League Division One.

So far this season, they sit eight in the league table so far this season, having secured six wins and two draws from their opening eleven games in the ninth tier.

Kick off is at 7:45pm.

It’s pay on the night at the King George V Stadium, with pricing as follows:

  • Adults – £8
  • Concessions – £5
  • U16’s – £2

The stadium bar will open from 6pm.

Head north from York via the A19 towards Osmotherley, before merging onto the A172 towards Stokesley. After passing through there, take the A173 towards Guisborough.

Previous Meetings

Both sides went head-to-head in the same competition during the 2015/16 season, where after a 0-0 draw at the end of the game, Guisborough ran out as winners on penalties at the King George V Stadium.
