The Minstermen start their Isuzu FA Trophy campaign this weekend when we travel across to Cheshire to take on Nantwich Town on Saturday afternoon.
Both sides go head-to-head in the Third Round of the competition as the Road to Wembley starts for Neal Ardley’s side.
Having had a full week on the training ground to prepare for this fixture, Ardley will be hoping his York City side can return to winning ways after narrowly losing to Wigan Athletic last Friday night in the Second Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
Three leagues below the Minstermen, Nantwich have had a mixed start to life in the eighth tier of English football this season as they currently sit 13th in the table, having been relegated from the Northern Premier League last season.
The Northern Premier League Division One West side will head into Saturday’s game hoping to cause a cup shock, but they know it’ll be tough against a Minstermen side who reached the Quarter Finals of the competition last season.
