York City begin the new season on Saturday, August 10th against Southend United at Roots Hall (3pm kick 0ff).

After seven pre-season friendly fixtures, the 2024/25 Vanarama National League season is upon us.

Our game against Southend will receive enhanced production from DAZN, live on National League TV, kickstarting the new seven-year broadcast and streaming deal.

TICKETS & TRAVEL

Tickets are on sale through the host club’s ticketing platform.

Supporters purchasing online can either print the e-ticket (sent to the email used at purchase) and show that on the turnstile, or display the e-ticket on a phone to gain entry.

York City supporters will be housed in the Solopress North Bank.

Advanced purchases are charged at the following:

  • Adult: £22
  • Senior (61+), Disabled, Emergency Services*, Young Adult (17-22): £17
  • Junior (Aged 9-16): £11
  • Child (Aged 8 & under): £5
  • Carer: Free

Tickets are subject to a £2 increase on matchday.

*Members of the emergency services can only take advantage of this price with proof of identification. Please contact Southend’s ticket office.

PAY ON THE DAY

Pay on the day facilities are on offer at Southend, purchasable in-person at the ticket office and online up until kick off.

However, the price does increase by £2 on all paid tickets.

Stadium Postcode: SS2 6NQ

Parking: No car parking available for visiting fans at the ground itself. There is the Southend High School For Boys (SS0 0RG) which also offers car parking for £5 per vehicle (the school entrance is on Prittlewell Road).

Street parking is in abundance – being situated in the residential area that it is with no permit holder sections, you’ll just need to avoid the yellow lines.

Train: The nearest railway station is Prittlewell, which is about a five-minute walk away.

Prittlewell is served by trains from London Liverpool Street.

Other stations in Southend include Southend Victoria, Southend Central and Southend East.

Bus: York Pullman are running a bus to the fixture.

Departure from Memorial Gardens in York City Centre will be 7am, with collection in Acomb 15 minutes later.

Payments for travel need to be made in advance, with no cash being taken on the day of travel.
