Match Preview | Wealdstone (A) | Saturday 14th February

City head to London for a Valentines Day affair with Wealdstone this weekend at Grosvenor Vale (3pm kick-off).

Now 20 unbeaten in the Enterprise National League, York City are very much keeping the pressure on league leaders Rochdale, who are two points ahead.

The Minstermen needed late drama to come out on top against Hartlepool in midweek – Alex Newby struck a wonderful half-volley first, before City were pegged back before half-time.

Hiram Boateng reinstated the lead in the 85th minute, then the Pools thought they had secured a point with an injury-time strike, but Josh Stones sealed the points from the spot in the 103rd minute.

Wealdstone played on Tuesday, but couldn’t avoid defeat away at Altrincham – they lost 1-0, after gaining a point in a 2-2 draw with Eastleigh last Saturday.

City boss Stuart Maynard returns to a place he spent three successful years at – he masterminded numerous wins over the Minstermen in his time with the Stones.

We won 4-0 against our next opponents back in October.

TRAVEL

Stadium Postcode: HA4 6JQ

Parking: No car parking is available at the ground itself. Wealdstone FC state that there is limited street parking close to the stadium. Supporters are asked to park courteously and not block or overhang driveways of residents.

Wealdstone recommend that supporters travel to Grosvenor Vale via public transport as the club is remarkably well served by tube, train and bus routes.

Train & Tube: The nearest tube station is Ruislip, which is a five-minute walk away.

Ruislip is serviced by the Metropolitan line, which is direct from King’s Cross St. Pancras station. Just ensure you jump on a tube heading towards Uxbridge after arriving at King’s Cross railway station.

Supporters can find further information via National Rail’s Journey Planner, and TfL’s Plan a Journey.

Bus: There will be NO supporters coach for this fixture due to lack of interest.
