The Minstermen will look to secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season when we take on Bromley at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday October 7th (3pm kick off.)

Neal Ardley’s side picked up an important three points in midweek, as we came from behind in East London to secure a crucial 2-1 win at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Lenell John-Lewis came off the bench to fire home the equaliser which levelled the game with five minutes to go, before Dipo Akinyemi’s seventh goal of the season four minutes into stoppage time stole all three points for City.

This weekend’s visitors currently sit fifth in the National League table following an impressive start to the season. So far this campaign, they’ve secured seven league wins and four draws from their opening fourteen games, taking 25 points from a possible 42.

Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at league leaders Chesterfield ended an eleven-game unbeaten run, which had seen them secure seven wins during that period.

This weekend’s fixture is our second Foundation Fixture of the season, which sees this match focusing on promoting mental health. Many activities will be taking place around the ground ahead of the game, which can be viewed below.

Y22 Bus Service

The Y22 Shuttle Bus service, kindly organised by York City Supporters Trust and First York, will be running for this fixture.

The Y22 service runs from two hours before kick-off and after the game until the ground is clear, up to 90 minutes after the full-time whistle. Fans wishing to use the service will need to purchase the Y22 tickets from the First Bus app, which are priced at:

  • Adult return: £3.50
  • Child/Concessionary return: £2
  • Adult single: £2
  • Child/Concessionary single: £1

No other tickets are valid on this service.

Previous Meetings

York and Bromley will take each other on in only the sixth-ever meeting between the two sides this weekend. Both sides first met during the 2016/17 season, where the London based club secured a league double over the Minstermen.

City travelled to Bromley in the 2021/22 FA Trophy Semi-Final, which saw the Minstermen lead at the break, before three second-half goals from the hosts saw them advance into the final at the national stadium.

Last season saw City finally get one over Bromley, as we secured a league double over them in the Vanarama National League.

We first met each other here at the LNER Community Stadium in September 2022, where an own goal and a Manny Duku header secured a 2-1 win for City, before a 3-0 win followed in March which saw City secure all three points following goals from Lenell John-Lewis, Luke James and Ryan Fallowfield.

How to follow the game

As always, the best way to follow the game is in the ground. If you can’t make it to the LNER Community Stadium however, here are some alternatives:
