The Minstermen’s attentions turn back to the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening when we welcome Chester FC to the LNER Community Stadium in a First Round replay.

After playing out a 0-0 draw just over a week ago, both sides will meet again midweek as both clubs look to secure their place in the Second Round.

League One side Wigan Athletic awaits the winners of Tuesday night’s tie, who booked their place in the hat for the next round of the competition following a 2-0 win away at Exeter City.

A terrestrial television slot also awaits the victors, with the BBC making their Friday night slot selection last week.

Since meeting at the Leap76 Stadium, The Minstermen returned to National League action as we faced AFC Fylde away from home on Saturday afternoon.

Similarly, Chester FC returned to league action at the weekend in the National League North, where they faced a trip to Blackwell Meadows to take on bottom of the league Darlington.

Match & Match Ball Sponsor

The Minstermen welcome Plonkers as match and match ball sponsors for our latest home game against Chester FC on Tuesday night.

Based in the historic riverside of York; Plonkers has been serving high quality locally sourced food and drinks since the 1980s. The name Plonkers, comes from the word Plonk, which was used to describe cheap French table wine in the 1980s (although research suggests the Aussies coined the word before the Brits!).

Plonkers Wine Bar has been around since those early 1980’s times and is completely independent and family run.

Go and enjoy the unique friendly atmosphere either within their unique building or out on the iconic Riverside, a location which is hard to beat! At Plonkers, they aim to provide the very best personal service to all customers and continue to support the many local breweries and suppliers.

We hope everybody connected with Plonkers enjoy their day with us at the LNER Community Stadium.
