Match Preview | York City vs Dorking Wanderers

By Rory Watson | Image by Tom Poole

City are back at the LNER Community Stadium this Tuesday evening, as we begin a run of three consecutive home games, starting with the visit of Dorking Wanderers (7.45pm kick-off).

It is an opportunity to make it two league wins on the bounce for the first time this season following Saturday’s late triumph down at Southend.

Marc White’s Dorking Wanderers side travel up to North Yorkshire knowing three points against the Minstermen could pull them out of the bottom four and level on points with City.

It looks to be third time lucky for this fixture, after cup involvement and freezing conditions have led to previous postponements.

Foundation Fan Zone Stage (Sponsored by Jorvik Radio) Music – Sponsored by Jorvik Radio

The Palava will join us pre-match on the Foundation Fan Zone Stage – sponsored by Jorvik Radio!

The Palava are an unsigned fresh five piece Indie Rock band, formed in York in late 2019, with a successful string of releases, packed with biting lyrics and anthemic hooks.

The band consists of Dom Salter (Lead Vocals), James Carr (Lead Guitar), Jamie Atkinson (Rhythm Guitar), Nick Gamov (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals) and Billy Gamov (Drums).

The boys have had an unusually quick rise in popularity around the York music scene. Playing to thousands of listeners and quickly building up a strong core fan base.

After the band was formed over a drunken conversation between friends, the lads wasted no time in getting serious. Having set their sights on carving out their own space in York’s ever flourishing music scene and beyond.

Y22 Bus Service

The Y22 Shuttle Bus service, organised by York City Supporters Trust and First York, will be running.

The Y22 operates from two hours before kick-off and after the game until the ground is clear, up to 90 minutes after the full-time whistle. This increases the frequency of buses running between Stonebow in the City Centre and the Monks Cross Park & Ride stop, as well as freeing up capacity on the existing number 9 route.

Fans wishing to use the service will need to purchase Y22 tickets from the First Bus app, which are priced at:

  • Adult return: £3.50
  • Child/Concessionary return: £2
  • Adult single: £2
  • Child/Concessionary single: £1

No other tickets are valid on the service.
