The Minstermen return to Vanarama National League action this coming Saturday when we take on North-East side Hartlepool United in front of a bumper crowd at the LNER Community Stadium.
Neal Ardley’s side head into this fixture following Tuesday evening’s 2-1 win against Chester FC in the Emirates FA Cup First Round replay, which saw the club secure their place in the Second Round of the competition for the first time since 2010.
Last Saturday saw the Minstermen earn their first win in the fifth tier of English Football since the beginning of October and Ardley’s men will be hoping to back up last weekend’s performance with another three points this coming Saturday.
Standing in their way are a Hartlepool United side, who have had a mixed start to the season following relegation from League Two last season.
Managed by former City boss John Askey, they head into Saturday’s game having only secured one win in their last nine games in all competitions.
The Pools secured a 2-2 draw at home to Ebbsfleet United last Saturday, which saw them end a run of four straight defeats in the Vanarama National League.
