Top scorer Ollie Pearce’s first chance came just less than 10 minutes later. A shot on his left foot from outside the box was saved down low by Blackman.
Pearce came extremely close to the opener minutes later. Bringing the ball down in the box before firing the ball goalwards, but his shot was somehow blocked by the last man before being cleared away.
The visitors were handed a penalty not long after when Harrison Male was judged to have fouled Joe Nuttall inside the box. Miguel Azeez stepped up to slot the penalty in the bottom right-hand corner.

Just three minutes into the second half, Morecambe had a second. The ball dropped kindly to Ben Tollitt inside the box who placed the ball into the bottom right-hand corner from a tight angle.
Alex Hunt put the Morecambe keeper to the test in the 58th minute. His left-footed shot inside the box stinging the palms of Blackman who made the save.
