Forward Ollie Pearce and midfielder Alex Hunt have both been awarded spots in Team of the Weeks following our 5-3 home victory against Hartlepool United.
Ollie Pearce opened the scoring in the first half, latching onto a long ball from Harrison Male, and curling into the far netting.
For the second time in only a matter of weeks, City found the back of the net from a free kick, again coming from the foot of Alex Hunt. Perfectly picking out the bottom corner, the 24-year-old doubled our lead just before the break.
Hartlepool grabbed one back early in the second half, but substitute Ashley Nathaniel-George restored the two-goal advantage with a stunner from distance.
Dipo Akinyemi got himself off the mark for the league campaign to make it 4-2, heading in from Hunt’s corner kick delivery on 85 minutes.
Once again, the visitors pulled one back, however they were never going to stop Pearce dispatching from the spot in injury time. The striker’s second penalty of the season takes him up to second in the National League top scorers chart.
Congratulations lads!
