York City can confirm that defender Sam Sanders’ contract has been mutually cancelled with immediate effect.
The 22-year-old initially joined the Minstermen on loan from Nottingham Forest during the 2021/22 season, helping City gain promotion out of the National League North.
Sanders featured 20 times in the National League the following season as the Minstermen avoided relegation, before heading out on loan to Truro City last campaign.
In total, the central defender featured 38 times for City across his two spells.
We wish Sam well in his future endeavours and thank him for his efforts whilst with the Minstermen.
