York City FC are proud to announce that the youth team will be taking part in the CEO Sleepout York 2024, a unique fundraising event aimed at raising awareness for poverty in the local community.
The CEO Sleepout York encourages the youth team to actively engage in fundraising efforts, using their networks and creativity to seek donations for the cause.
Youth Team Manager Tim Ryan stated: “This is a huge opportunity for the youth team to engage with the local community. It provides the team an invaluable opportunity for the youth team to develop empathy, compassion, and a deeper understanding of this great cause.”
The event is being hosted by the York City FC Foundation once again, “The Foundation hosted the event back in 2019 at Bootham Crescent and raised a breathtaking £25,000. This year there are four main beneficiaries as a part of this project: York City FC Foundation, The Hygiene Bank, Carecent and SASH.
Foundation Manager Paula Stainton says: “We are thrilled to have the youth team join us for this years CEO Sleepout. Their involvement demonstrates the power of raising awareness among the younger generation. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by homelessness.”
The event will take place on Thursday 18th of April at the York Community Stadium and alongside the youth team sleeping out will be passionate CEO’s, business leaders and influencers to spend a night for this great cause.
Youth Team Manager Tim Ryan added: “The squad would be hugely appreciative of any donations, every little counts and would make a massive impact in fighting the issues many face daily.”
