York City Ladies FC Appoint New First Team Manager

York City Ladies Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Bobby Paterson as the new First Team Manager ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Paterson joins the club with a wealth of experience in the women’s game, bringing a strong track record of leadership, tactical expertise, and a passion for player development. His work internationally and connection to communities all over is expected to bring a positive impact to the Ladies First Team and to the York City community.

Ladies Club Chair Paula Stainton on the change of Manager, “There’s no good time for change of Manager whether it’s in or out of season so it was important for us to move quickly and find the right person to take us into the new season. It’s still a very exciting time with player retention, recruitment, and preseason games. We’re thrilled to have Bobby onboard with his vast experience, and delighted for him to
have the opportunity to have the most impact and to shape the season ahead.”

Bobby Paterson added, “You can see already, with the size of the actual female program – that’s touching so many different families and communities. There’s great facilities and the club’s got such a rich history that gives you so much to build on. I can tell you, we’re going to be working real hard to build a squad and a team to be proud of and really enjoy watching.”

York City Ladies FC is entering a new chapter, and the appointment of Paterson signals a clear intent to progress on and off the pitch.

Pre-season preparations are already underway, with updates on fixtures and player announcements to follow in the coming weeks.
